Parent Information

At Edu Fun Nursery, we ensure parents are well-informed from the beginning of their journey with us. Information is provided:

  • When parents are invited to visit the nursery

  • Through regular discussions with staff

  • On our parent information boards located in the reception area

  • Via our nursery prospectus and newsletters

 

Information Provided to Parents Includes:

  • The types of activities provided for children

  • Daily and weekly planning overviews

  • Safeguarding and equal opportunities policies

  • Information about how to view all nursery policies and procedures

  • Complaints procedure

  • Procedure for when a child is not collected at the appointed time

  • Procedure for when a child goes missing

 


 

Access to Development Records

Parents are informed of their right to have free access to their child’s development records and are encouraged to review these regularly.
To view a child’s personal file, a written request must be submitted. Data protection rules will apply, especially where third-party information is involved.

 


 

Information We Request from Parents

We collect key information through the registration form and ongoing discussions with parents, including:

  1. Any special dietary requirements

  2. Skin or hair care considerations

  3. Special words the child uses or responds to

  4. Sleep routines and any sleep-related challenges

  5. Family members and the names the child uses for them

  6. Any language difficulties, including when English is not the child’s first language

  7. Health and medical history, including recent illnesses

 


 

Emergency Medical Consent

At the time of admission, we request written parental permission to seek emergency medical advice or treatment if necessary in the future.

 


 

Regular Review of Family Information

We understand that children and family circumstances change. Therefore, we review the information provided by parents at least once every six months to ensure all details remain accurate and up to date.

Any changes will be documented on the child’s registration form.

Complaints Procedure

We maintain a clear procedure for handling concerns or complaints:

  • All complaints are recorded in writing along with their outcomes.

  • We investigate all written complaints related to nursery requirements.

  • Complainants are notified of the investigation outcome within 28 days of receipt.
